When you have a desire for something, yet it does not seem to be happening – how do you respond? Are you frustrated and taking it out on everyone around you or do you allow God to complete His plan and do things in His own timing? Waiting on God’s timing I think is one of the most difficult parts of living.
Letting our spouse know that we are waiting is something we can do for ourselves. It lets them know we are frustrated about something and invites them to pray for us. If we keep our frustrations and worries to ourselves, it can lead to misunderstandings and prevents opportunities for them to join with us on the journey. We are united for both the good and the bad and need to support each other through both.
When couples pray together and for each other the intimacy that occurs can unite them in a very special way. It also allows us to see and hear our spouse working on our behalf.
I hope this weekend you will take an opportunity to pray with your spouse.
